The Grand Canyon has long been regarded as one of the most
spectacular places on earth!
Millions of visitors flock to Grand Canyon National
Park every year to see the magnificent cliffs and valleys formed so many years ago by the
Colorado River. The Grand Canyon is the most studied geologic landscape on earth, and
for good reason. Standing on the edge of its 4,000 foot cliffs, you will marvel at how nature
could have ever created such a stunning place!
Most people who travel to Grand Canyon National Park just take pictures and look at it. But
at Backcountry Found, we think you should do more than just see the Grand Canyon, you
should actually experience it. What better way to get to know this beautiful marvel than with
a guided backpacking trip to the canyon bottom?  Backcountry Found leads several annual
trips to Grand Canyon National Park, following a variety of different trails.

Class 3 Grand Canyon South Rim Tours
2007 Dates:  May 25-29 and Sept 8-12 (Men's Tour) - $700
This introductory trip takes you to the bottom of the Canyon via the famous South Kaibab Trail.  This
exceptionally scenic trail takes you 7 miles straight down to the bottom passing vistas galore.  Once
at the bottom sites including the Colorado River, Ribbon Falls, Phantom Falls and Creek, Clear
Creak and Phantom Ranch await.  The hike out traverses, perhaps the most well known, Bright
Angel Trail.  The abundance of water and high traffic of this trail allow for a more relaxed trip up, but
don't fool yourself.  You are still hiking approximately 9 miles up and out!

Class 5 Grand Canyon North Rim Tour
2007 Dates:  Oct 3-7 - $750
This is an advanced level backpacking trip intended for those who
have done a considerable amount of backpacking and are in great
physical condition. Participants should be prepared for the steep
difficult trail.  If you would like to experience the Grand Canyon that
very few people do, then this trip is for you.  This remote and
magnificent hike is truly unique.  The huge outpourings of water at
Thunder River, Tapeats Spring and Deer Spring have attracted
people since prehistoric times and today this little corner of Grand
Canyon is exceedingly popular among seekers of the remarkable.
Like a gift, booming streams of crystalline water emerge from
mysterious caves to transform the harsh desert of the inner Canyon
into impossibly beautiful green oasis' replete with the music of
falling water and cool pools.  The approach is long, hot and dry but
for those making the journey these destinations represent
something close to Canyon perfection!   One of the Canyon's best
hikes!
