| Accommodations: Four nights backcountry camping. Activity Level: Class 5 - Advanced Tour. Class 5 tours are meant for those that have done either a number of backpacking trips or are in excellent physical condition. Participants must be prepared to do heavy physical activity in extremely diverse environments and terrain. The trails, although well traveled, are not easy. They involve extended descents and climbs. We will hike between 8-12 miles a day with a backpack pack weighing between 35-50 pds. Beyond that, there is a considerable amount of high altitude hiking on this tour. Age range tends to be 17-50. Please contact us if you are concerned about your ability to complete the trek. Start/Finish Location: Sunrise Trailhead along Tioga Pass, Yosemite National Park Trip Itinerary: Day 1: Meet your guides and other group members at the Sunrise Trailhead by 10:30AM, inside Yosemite National Park. Following an orientation, gear distribution (where applicable) and pack fitting we’ll begin our short 2.5 mile hike up to the Sunrise Lakes were we make camp for the next two nights. Day 2: Optional day hike to the Cathedral Peak (11,000ft) and Lakes. Day 3: Break camp and hike up and over Clouds Rest (9,900ft) down to the John Muir Trail to camp at Little Yosemite Valley. Day 4: Break camp then make an early start to summit Half Dome (8,800ft), Day 5: Hike the short 2.5 miles back down to the Sunrise Trailhead. Note on itinerary: Although we do our very best to adhere to the schedule listed above, this itinerary is subject to change for numerous reasons beyond our control. This trip is operated rain or shine. Trip Preparedness: This trip is Class 5. Participants will be carrying their own backpacks with weights of 35-50 lbs. over steep and rocky terrain with constant and dramatic elevation gain and/or loss. Please make sure your backpack is fitted to your body before the trip. Trip members need to in superior physical condition. To maximize your enjoyment of the trip, we strongly encourage participants to be involved in a training regimen before the trip. Day hiking with 30-50 lbs in the pack you intend to hike with on the trip and making sure your hiking boots are broken in before your trip is key. Beyond that, due to the high altitude nature of this tour, any acclimation or high altitude preparation you can do will greatly add to your experience. Trip Price Includes: Professional instruction and guiding; all dinners on day one through day four, all breakfasts from day two through day five; drinks, group cooking gear; group first aid kit, water filters; campsite and backcountry permit fees. LUNCH and TRANSPORTATION IS NOT INCLUDED. Not included: Transportation from your hometown to group meeting point; park entrance fees; insurance of any kind; lunches; snacks and energy food; energy drinks; alcoholic beverages; soft drinks; guide gratuities and items of a personal nature. Once you are in the field on this trip there is no easy way to contact you; typically cell phones do not work in the backcountry. Tipping Guidelines: Tipping at the end of the trip is optional. If you feel your guide(s) did an outstanding job and would like to reward them for their efforts, $5-$15 dollars per day, per guide is a suggested guideline. Evening temperatures drop into the 40s - 50s or even lower. While rain in general is rare, there is always the possibility of rain, so adequate rain gear is important, even in this arid landscape. |


| This amazing tour of Yosemite's most famous peaks, includes the infamous Half Dome, the spectacular Clouds Rest, Cathedral Peak and some of the most amazing waterfalls and lakes that Yosemite has to offer. Other highlights include camping at the remote and spectacular Sunrise Lakes.
